Young people in care aged 16 and 17 years who are not receiving an income, are eligible for youth allowance from Centrelink.
Transition to Independent Living Allowance
What is TILA? The Transition to Independent Living Allowance (TILA) is a one-off support from the Australian Government to help young people who are leaving care to meet some of the costs involved in moving to independent living.
