Tax file numbers

A Tax file number is a unique number that you get from the Tax office so they can track your taxes, and other government systems. You will only ever get one tax file number that you will have forever.

visit a shopfronts or selected newsagents, or ask for one from Centrelink the Department of Veterans’ Affairs if you are applying for a government benefit or pension.
