Sample Letters


When you send a CV to apply for a job, you will also need to send a cover letter.

The cover letter is an opportunity for you to be very positive about your skills and personal qualities. In this letter you should explain why you are suitable for the job and describe how the information in your CV relates to the job that you’re applying for.


Tips on writing the cover letter:

•    Keep it to one A4 page.

•    Use a computer to write it.

•    Include the job title or reference number of the job that you’re applying for.

•    Get someone else to check it for spelling mistakes before you send it off. Nothing turns an employer off more than spelling mistakes!
