Young people’s Survey about Rights
Want to have a say about children and young people’s rights?
Everyone is born with human rights. Human rights are about fair treatment of people.
As a young person your human rights are important to you in many areas of your life: at school, at work, at home and in how the government treats you.
Young people have stories of being hassled by police, not being able to find or afford a safe home, of getting their lives back on track after seeing a counsellor about their drug problem, stories of not getting proper support at school, stories of being treated unfairly and differently coz they are Aboriginal, gay, or refugee background or just coz they’re young…
All these stories have one thing in common… they involve young people either enjoying or not enjoying their human rights.
If you are under 18 this is your chance to tell the government what you think about children and young people’s rights in Australia. Go to www.surveymonkey.com/s/childrights to have your say!
